(due to weather or instructor illness) must be made up on the day class is rescheduled by the instructor. - Tools and Materials are not included in the class fee. CLASS NOTES: Great Glass Galore is now a home based business. Due
to that… - Class size is limited to 7 students. Once the classes
are filled, your name will be first on the waiting list for the next session, or another class session may be opened by the
instructor. - Students will park and meet 15 minutes before class at the Rock Creek Pool
and Tennis courts on the Southeast corner of Rock Creek Parkway and Indiana Street. From there, you can
walk 5 minutes to my house, or drive over together in my car or one other car. I drive a red explorer. The
instructor will meet you at the pool the first day of class to introduce everyone and take you to the house. - If you are allergic to cats, don't sign up for class or take precautions.

CLASS
DESCRIPTIONS
STAINED GLASS Beginners:
Make 1 project of 15 pieces or less learning all the steps of the copper
foil method. Try Great Glass Galore tools the 1st week, then purchase or rent tools by the 2nd week.
Non-Beginners: Learn the lead came method or fine tune your skills by working on whatever you
want at your own pace.
FUSING Beginners: Learn about the basic firing temperatures of glass, the materials used for fusing, and
how to put the materials together. Non-Beginners: Learn more details about firing schedules, setting up their own kiln, kiln wash, molds
& fiber papers, or just work on projects. All
students will get to make one or more bowls, plates, tiles, clocks, belt
buckles, jewelry and more. The firing fee for all your projects are included in the class fee, but
expect to spend $40-$80 on materials. Glass cutting skills are recommended, but not required. Ask
about scheduling an optional 1.25 hour glass cutting workshop (cost $18).
PROJECT
IN A DAY FUSED GLASS ORNAMENTS: Cut and
assemble 4 glass ornaments that the instructor will fire in the kiln. Expect to spend $22-$60 ($5-6/ornament plus the
cost of optional dichroic glass) on fusing supplies. No fusing or glass experience required. MOSAIC
POT: Learn mosaic skills by painting your pot, cutting glass into squares/triangles, and gluing them to a pattern
on your pot. Start gluing your pieces on in class and finish at home. Come in on your own time for 1 hour to grout
your pot. The pot, glue, and grout are include in the class fee. Expect to spend $22 on mosaic cutters and around
$10 on glass. SENSATIONAL BEVELED SNOWFLAKES: Cut, foil, solder and assemble a snowflake using glass, bevels,
and globs. Students without any glass experience will pick a snowflake that needs no cutting, and will learn how to
foil and solder them. Expect to spend $15-$60 on materials. These make great holiday gifts! Learn how to
make one, and make many more at home by yourself. STEPPING
STONES: Make an 8x8" square stone using a precut glass kit and a quick drying cement called DiamondCrete
(DC). Pick out your glass kit and color of DC at least 3 weeks ahead of class to guarantee your choice. Expect
to spend ~$38 on the mold, DC, and glass kit. You keep the mold to make more at home. No experience required. WIRE
WRAPPING A GLASS CABACHON: Use soft sterling silver to hold and hang a glass cabachon. You will need
jewelry tools: flat nose, chain nose, and round nose pliers, and wire cutters. You can purschase them through
the teacher. Please request this ahead of class. You will need to purchase the glass cabachon, and silver during
class ($25+). Material prices depend on the price of silver.
